Saying Goodbye to Our Friend Robert Warnock

We were saddended to learn of the passing of our friend and band historian Robert Warnock on Monday, January 2nd.

Robert was born in Flint, Michigan on March 16, 1936, the son of Robert and Barbara (Young) Warnock. He married Hilda Gibson on April 7, 1964, in Flint. Robert worked at Hamady Brothers grocery store and was later employed by Genesee County Community Mental Health as a Courier. Robert was proud of his Scottish heritage and was a member of the Flint Scottish Pipe Band.

He has been the acting band historian for a number of years. His meticulous tracking of our band history helped to get the band recognized by the state of Michigan as the oldest pipe band in the state.
